Without question, the shredder plays a central role in the ever-evolving business of recycling and waste

Without question, the shredder plays a central role in the ever-evolving business of recycling and waste management, not only for processing metals, ELVs and tires but also for size reduction of an increasingly wide range of materials. The latest models easily handle everything from plastics and fibre, e-waste and ASR (auto shredder residue) to organics and biomass, as well as C&D debris and solid waste for refuse-derived fuel (RDF) applications.  In contrast to large, stationary shredders designed to process mostly homogenous materials such as ferrous metal, today’s multi-material mobile units (1,000 to 4,000 hp models, or even smaller) in particular have become more and more common. Mobile shredders (mounted on tracks, trailer- or skid-mounted) are most commonly available in dual-shaft (or twin-shaft) configurations, as well as in single-shaft. Units can run at slow- or high-speeds, and are available with hydraulic, electric or hybrid drives, or with Tier 4 diesel engines and alternative fuel options. The latest offerings are designed to provide longer-lasting wear parts, ease of maintenance, much improved noise and dust reduction technology, high levels of safety fo...

Electromagnetic Analysis of Cable Harnesses in an Automotive Environment

This article shows how electromagnetic simulation tools can be used to investigate effects of high-speed signals in cable harnesses in a vehicle: cross talk, radiation and interference with a receiving antenna. Results are presented for two types of digital sequences and compared with standards. Cable shielding is designed to be adequate without adding unnecessary weight. Vehicles are experiencing a continual growth in the number of electronic systems (e.g. cruise control, airbag deployment, power steering, “infotainment”, etc.). These systems and their respective components are usually governed by digital logic on printed circuit boards. Signals are communicated through cables, which are bundled in complicated harnesses throughout the vehicle. Figure 1 illustrates only one of several harnesses that can easily contain more than a hundred cable instances and fifty connectors. Consequently, cross talk and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) are major concerns. This article demonstrates, by means of a case study, how simulation tools can help minimize the resources required for EMC testing, which is often time consuming and expensive. A simplified yet representative example compris...

List will automatically refresh with page refresh every 15 minutes – Keep this page open in a browser tab. Weaker earthquakes check this listing Earthquakes of M 2.7 or more, click here.- -Have you felt the shaking of one the listed earthquakes? If Yes, tell us by using the I FELT IT form (preferably) behind the earthquake or at the bottom of this page. Using our EQ Report iOS or Android app would even be easier and very informative (links in banner on top of the page). INFO link behind a specific earthquake row is showing additional maps and information + previous earthquakesThe multi-source approach makes it possible to compare preliminary Magnitude and Depth values as seismology is not an exact science and needs a lot of (re-)calculations.  Roof Shingle, Roofing Shingle, Asphalt Shingle, Bitumen Shingle – BFS BUILDING,https://www.asphaltroofshingle.com/

Babies are incredibly fun to shop for, and that’s just a universal truth. You get to comb through soft blankets, jumpers with cute animals, and accessories that are just so adorably tiny. This year, I get to shop for a delightful five-month-old girl and a hilarious three-year-old boy, both of whom I can’t wait to dress in my favorite baby animals. OK to clarify, they’re not my children—they’re my friend’s child and my nephew, but I’ve been browsing like I need to fill their entire wardrobes, finding the best onesies, shirts, and pajamas they need right now. And while I can’t find any that say, “I love my favorite aunt, Kate Ellsworth,” I am finding a crop of amazing gifts from Carter’s. We took a look at the best gifts you can get at Carter’s under $25, but in case you’re anything like me—meaning you’re still shopping—there are a lot of great last-minute gifts you can still pick up at Carter’s. And even better, you can buy your presents online and pick them up in-store, so no need to start sweating about shipping (unless you’re like me, again, and just s...

This Anglo-Urdu poet is a bundle of wit Facebook Twitter LinkedIn WhatsApp Pinterest Facebook Twitter LinkedIn WhatsApp Pinterest

Man knows how to cry from birth, but laughter takes some learning. But, in his case it seems to be the other way round. A born optimist, he knows how to cock a snook at the vicissitudes of life. However grave the situation might be, he discovers a funny angle to it and makes light of the whole mater. If you don’t learn to laugh at trouble, you won’t have anything to laugh at when you grow old. That’s what he believes in. And, therefore, it is impossible to be with him and yet not have some of his sprightliness rubbed on you. Stage artiste, actor and humorous poet, Mirza Mustafa Ali Baig comes across as a bundle of wit. As a mizahiya shayer, he is a cut above the rest since he is the only poet in Hyderabad to practise Anglo-Urdu shayeri. Interspersing Urdu poetry with a generous dose of English words is his forte. He uses words like ‘impossible, you don’t know, tension, make-up, connection, etc.,’ to great effect. Urdu equivalents of these words will not have the same impact. Sample these verses: Tu jo hara hai election all rightPaida karle new connection all rightHain minister assi (80) assi saal mainHum ko atthavan (58) main pension all right Baig doesn’t have any pretensions o...

Test In New Frontiers: Flexible Circuits Test In New Frontiers: Flexible Circuits

Test is becoming increasingly complicated as new technologies such as flexible electronics begin playing mission-critical roles in applications where electronics have little or no history. Although flexible circuitry has been around for while, testing needs to catch up as these circuits are deployed across a variety of markets where conditions may be extreme. In many cases, sensors for monitoring what is going on inside a device, such as rate of flow in an industrial valve — or outside of that device, such as heat and noise in a mechanical robotic arm, or even in the sleeve of a jacket — have to be retrofitted to existing systems or designs. The easiest way to make that happen is through flexible electronics. The flexible electronics field is growing. There are new varieties and hybrids that are stretchable, textile-based and printable. But because this technology has been more of a research project than a commercial venture, there are no standards for testing and little data to show how these materials age, drift or otherwise degrade over time, particularly in specific applications. “We try to borrow as much as we can from the traditional rigid printed circuit board community,”...

2020 Honda Activa 6G vs TVS Jupiter: BS-VI compliant 110cc scooters compared

Yes, all of the vehicles that run on an internal combustion engine will be upgraded to BS-VI emissions standards eventually so there’s no surprise is we report about a new model of an existing product being launched. But some manufacturers are more active at updating their product lineup than others and Honda Motorcycle & Scooter and TVS Motor Company happen to be two peas in a pod. TVS has updated the RTR range and the Jupiter as well, and Honda has launched the BS-VI compliant Activa 125, SP125, and now the BS-VI 2020 Honda Activa 6G. So, since the Jupiter and Activa 6G are the only two BS-VI compliant 110cc scooters, it is only plausible that we’ll pit the two against each other. Here goes: The Activa 6G is powered by the updated 109cc single-cylinder engine which is now fuel-injected as will all BS-VI vehicles be, which means it should also be more fuel-efficient. Power and torque figures have slipped slightly lower and now stand at 7.68 bhp at 8,000 rpm, and 8.79 Nm of peak torque at 5,250 rpm. Honda also claims that fuel efficiency has increased by about 10%. TVS Jupiter is powered by an upgraded version of the same single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which ...

Molding Better Molders, One Class at a Time: Plastics Technology

Founded by and named for Rod Groleau, RJG grew out of an appreciation for two burgeoning needs of the plastics industry: training to help people better understand the molding process and equipment to let them actually see what’s happening inside that process. In addition to work at the machine, students in RJG’s Systematic Molding course also work in a “classroom” in Traverse City, Mich.  Hands-on work at the press combines with classroom work at RJG’s training center in Traverse City.  To address the first need, Groleau started RJG Associates as a training and consulting firm in 1985. That was followed in short order in 1989 by the creation of RJG Technologies as an equipment company supplying sensors and data-acquisition systems. The two units merged into RJG Inc. in 1999 to provide molders with technology and training. In late August, I visited RJG’s headquarters in Traverse City, Mich. on the shores of Lake Michigan’s Grand Traverse Bay, to acquaint myself with the training portion of the company’s business, taking part in a 3-day Systematic Molding class. My classmates numbered 13 and were diverse in age (20’s to 50’s), markets served (medical, automotive, and pipe fittings...
