Story line: Coming off a 34-29 victory at Army last Saturday, San Jose State hosts No. 21 Boise State trying to end three long droughts: The Spartans haven’t beaten a ranked team since they upset No. 16 Fresno State (and QB Derek Carr) 62-52 on Nov. 29, 2013. They haven’t won consecutive games since October 2014. And, they haven’t beaten the Broncos. Period. San Jose State is 0-13 against Boise State. The teams’ first meeting came in 1978, the most recent in 2016.  If the Spartans are to upend Boise State, you figure Josh Love must have a big game. Few quarterbacks in the country can match the numbers the senior posted in October. In four games (two wins), he passed for 1,342 yards and 10 touchdowns.  Protecting Love will be key for the Spartans. Boise State averages three sacks per game. Junior linebacker Curtis Weaver leads the Mountain West Conference in sacks with 9.5.  Who starts at QB for the Broncos is uncertain.
